U.S. Congressman. Earning a degree from the Louisiana State University, he graduated from the medical department of Tulane University and was assistant superintendent of East Louisiana Hospital for the Insane, Jackson, Louisiana, (1909-10). He was a practicing physician in Slidell, Louisiana, (1910-37) and during World War I served as a First Lieutenant in the Medical Corps, US Army. After the war, he resumed the practice of medicine and was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fifth and Seventy-sixth Congresses, serving (1937-41). An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he was with the Milk Marketing Service of the Department of Agriculture, until his death at age 59.
