Elijah Brantley the son of Clum Brantley and Anner Brantley was born in Leake County, January 26, 1907.
On November 6, 1928 he married Miss Ethel McGee, and to this union seven children were born, three girls and four boys.
Early in life he joined Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, later he joined Marble Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
Elijah departed this life Tuesday afternoon, December 3, 1968 at 2:35 P.M. at the Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital, Kosciusko, Mississippi.
His survivors include; a wife, Mrs. Ethel McGee Brantley of Kosciusko, Mississippi; three sons, Mr. Glen Brantley, Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Joe Brantley and Mr. Billy Brantley both of Detroit, Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. Selma Evans,Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Elma Kern, Omaha, Nebraska and Martha L. Foster, Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Lela Brown, Kosciusko, Mississippi; two brothers, Mr. Lincoln Brantley, Cleveland, Ohio, and Mr. Pearl Brantley, Kosciusko, Mississippi; ten grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
