THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 21, 2011, page 3A. - CLARKSVILLE - Kenneth Smith, 89, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at East Texas Medical Center in Clarksville.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Gossett and the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial is to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family is to receive friends an hour before service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith was born in the Cunningham community on April 5, 1922, to John and Maudie Blankenship Smith. He was retired from the Texas Department of Transportaion. He loved raising cattle and was a beloved Texas Ranger fan. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adell Smith, on October 11, 2007; two daughters, Lois Dean Pemberton and Dorothy Brantley; three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Travillion of Clarksville and Betty Mauldin of Avery; 13 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
