Mary Ann Gemmill, 64, of Pittsburgh and West Chester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2011, with her loved ones at her side, after losing her battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Lee Gemmill, to whom he affectionately referred as "Precious," sharing 44 years of marriage.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving children: her son, Raymond Gemmill of West Chester; daughter, Karen Interrante and her husband, Charles, of Valrico, Fla.; and daughter, Laura DiPasquale and her husband, Dean, of Glen Mills. She is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she adored, Blake Gemmill, Evan Interrante, Avery Interrante, Damien Interrante, Conor Interrante, Johnathan DiPasquale and Alyssa DiPasquale; and many cousins in the Pittsburgh and Arizona areas. Mary Ann is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Lisowski of West Chester; brother-in-law, Bruce Gemmill of Swarthmore; sister-in-law, Betty Gemmill Davey of New York; and a niece, Nina Endler of Boulder, Colo.
Mary Ann loved her girlfriends and her Art Therapy for Cancer friends and will miss them. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, home improvements, reading and her newly acquired interest in painting with her Art Therapy group.
She had been a Cub Scout Leader and volunteer with the Chester County Historical Society.
Mary Ann's employment history included Chester County Hospital, Pepperidge Farms, and her recent retirement form the Chester County Parks and Recreation Department after 18 years of service. She was an on-call employee at QVC until her death.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her father, Charles Lisowski; and her brother David Lisowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, at Ss. Simon & Jude Church, routes 3 and 352, West Chester.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, and from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home Inc., 410 N. Church St., West Chester, 610-696-1181
Interment will be in Edgewood Memorial Park.
