William Sherrick

Watson- William L. Sherrick, 77, of Watson died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, Effngham, with burial in Greenup Cemetey. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, and at the church for one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the First Christian Church.

Mr. Sherrick was born July 3, 1920, in Cumberland County, the son of Noah and Ellen J. (Gable) Sherrick. He married Wilma Nichols in 1941.

He was the retired owner of Sherrick's A.I. Service for 51 years; member of First Christian Church, Effngham, Odd Fellows Lodge of Greenup, Effingham Masonic Lodge 149 and Effingham Eastern Star Lodge 110.

Survivors include his wife; son, James (wife, Sally) of Watson; daughters, Mrs. David (Nancy) Brosseau of Orland Park, Mrs. Mike (Jeanie) Harshbarger of Mount Vernon; brother James N. of Villa Grove; sisters, Edna Bradley of Carbondale, Lena Sherrick of Greenup, Betty Albers of Brownsville, Texas; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
