Mr. William Hutchins whose critical illness was reported in the Union last week, died on the 16th inst. at Linden his home on My Lady's Manor in the 72st year of his age. The cause of his death was disease of the stomach from which he had suffered for several months. Mr. Hutchins was prominently connected, owned one of the finest farms in that section of the country. Never held public office, but was an active Democrat and was several times candidate for county Treasurer. A widow survives with six children. They are Arthur, Edgar, Grover, and Ralph Hutchins and Bessie and Emily Hutchins. The funeral took place from his late home Monday and the services were held in St. James P. E. Church. Interment in church cemetery, Rev. S. E. Potter conducted services. The Honorary Pallbearers: Messrs. Jacob M. Pearce, Henry C. Hutchins, John C. Bosley, Captain J. C. Turner. Active Pallbearers: J. Myers Pearce, John M. Little, J. M. Birmingham, John Rush Streett, William B. Hutchins and J. P. Frantz.

The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends. The floral tributes were exquisite in their beauty and were doubtless mute tokens of sympathy to be bereaved family. Mr. Hutchins enjoyed the respect and confidence of the community in which he lived. He was the son of the late Major William Hutchins who is his day was considered one of the most successful farmers in this section of Maryland. His son inherited Linden, his beautiful home, from his father. The choir rendered beautiful solemn music for the occasion.
