Mamie Mae Williams Wright, 82, died Sep. 23, 1989 at Harris HEB Hospital following an extended illness.

Mamie was born June 16, 1907, a native of Murfreesboro, Rutherford County Tennessee, she moved to Leonard, Texas in 1919. Growing up in a loving and musical farming family, Mamie and her sisters and brothers were also fine singers and musicians. During their off time from helping in the fields, they could be found entertaining friends and family at a number of churches and play parties get togethers and socials for the area young people.

She married Thomas Edmund Wright Jr. in 1929 and was a wonderful homemaker, mother and talented seamstress. She and Ed moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1942 and raised their 6 children, James, Martha, Frieda, Larry, Gwen and Elaine to adulthood there. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church for many years and then later taught Sunday School at Browning Heights Baptist Church when they moved to Haltom City in 1954. It later became Harvest Baptist Church which she attended to her passing.

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, her 6 children and their spouses, 24 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Interment is in Bluebonnet Cemetery in Colleyville Texas.
