Grace was a well-loved and respected lady who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Grace was a great lady who loved, and cared for everyone. We have been graced with her loving spirit for 87 years. To have known her is a true blessing. She was a good Christian woman, a wonderful mother and a beloved wife. Grace was a member of Mountain Creek Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roland Glenn Skates; three daughters, Drusilla Coffman, Dianna and Doris Slatton; her father Robert Owen; her mother Della Tanner Owen; two sisters Martha Jo Parks and Rhea Sarrett; two brothers Frank and Howard Owen.
She is survived by her son, Donald Slatton, Birmington, Ala.; two grandchildren; and one great-grand-child.
There will be a grave side service on Monday, Dec., 16, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery located on Holtzclaw Avenue.
