He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a truck driver throughout most of his life.
Survived by two daughters - Kerri Berend and Kim Stanford; one son - Douglas Stanford; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother - Ed Stanford.
