KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Annie E. Alfveby, 92, formerly of the William and Mary Apts. on N. Hamilton St. in High Point died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Veterans Hospital in Salisbury.
She was born in Guilford County, the daughter of John Alex and Alice Morgan Farrington. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and served as a Military Nurse from 1943 to 1945 with the Army, and completed services as a First Lt. She was the first woman to be inducted in the local Kernersville V.F.W. Post. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Alfveby and four sisters, Lucille Atkins, Jessie Watson, Dorothy Farrington and Sudie Mae Grundy; and one brother, John A. Farrington.
Surviving are one sister-in-law, Mrs. Wilma Farrington of the Sandy Ridge Community in Guilford County; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at the Pierce Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
