First wife of Nathaniel Newton Allen. After Emma passed away, Nathaniel married Florence S. (Carlstead) Allen.

Emma Z. (Smith) Allen is the daughter of James Frederick Smith of Tennessee and Wilhelmina (Chrane) Smith of Denmark. James Frederick and Wilhelmina lived in Chariton County, Missouri. Note: Find A Grave member Nancy Meadows researched Wilhelmina's parents to discover where they lived. The 1876 plat shows land owned by W A Smith (likely Wilhelmina A Smith), just about 1/2 mile north of Musslefork Cemetery. James Frederick likely passed away between 1870 and 1876.
