DAVENPORT - Orceneth F. Ray, 64, of Davenport, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 31, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Fellowship Food Pantry, Moline.
Orceneth was born March 15, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Rev. Jonathan E. and Darris (Shapiro) Ray. He married Laura P. Welty on December 18, 1980, in Davenport. He was an operating engineer with McCarthy Improvement Company, Davenport, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship. Orceneth enjoyed life, his family, and especially his granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; daughter, Lisa (Mark) King, of Bluffton, Ind.; son, Corbin Ray, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; granddaughter, Jennifer King, of Bluffton, Ind.; sister, Darris "Angel" Cary, of Lake Charles, La.; and brothers, Jonathan Ray Jr., of Stevensville, Mont., and Bob Ray, of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Gary W. Harrell, and a brother, Macky Ray.
