Married on June 11,1854 to Hugh Moon the same day he married Jennett Nicol, they were both married by President Brigham Young. (Early Morman lifestyle) Elizabeth was 2nd wife and Jennett was 3rd.
Elizbeth was born to Charles and Elizabeth Wilkey Kemish at Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Portsmouth is on the Engl;ixh Channel southwest of London. Elizabeth's father's trade was basket weaving.
Elizabeth's voyage to America began when she was fifteen years old. She was the oldest of six children and was accompnied by her parents, 2 sisters,3 brothers and all of her father's family.They set sail from Liverpool on Sunday, January 23, 1853 aboard the ship "Golconda" with captain Kerr at the helm,. Later she walked most of the 1200 miles from Keokuk, Iowa with 32 covered wagans for the long trek west to Utah.
