Son of Nancy Falsone.

Joseph served as a Private First Class, 313th Infantry, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided on N. Main Street, Mt. Morris, Livingston, County, New York.

He was "Killed In Action" in France during the war and was awarded a Purple Heart.

The Picket Line Post - Mount Morris, NY - April 15, 1949

Word has been received here that the remains of PFC Joseph Leone, who gave his life for his country in World War II will arrive in Mount Morris over the Lackawanna Railroad at 5:51 pm April 18th. A military escort will meet the body at the station and he will be taken to the home of his mother, Mrs. Louis Falsone in North Main street.

Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock and from the Church of the Assumption at 9:30 o'clock. There will be a military funeral under the direction of the Mt Morris veterans organization. Rev. Dominic Grasso will officiate and burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Pfc Leone was killed in action in France July 7, 1944. He was a junior in the Mt. Morris high school when he entered the service Sept 2, 1943. A member of teh 313th Infantry, he had been overseas but a short time previous to his death.

Besides his mother, he is survived by one sister and six brothers, all of Mount Morris.
