Dorothy Tate Clear, 90, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2011.

She was a long term supporter of the Methodist Church, having served previously as a Sunday School teacher and as a church organist.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years, James F. Clear Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Mabe; two grandsons, Charles Saddler and PFC David Mabe II; by two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Evan Saddler; and her niece, Rebecca of Hugg, S.C.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Elmo McLaurin officiating. The interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
