She was born Aug. 20, 1920. in Marshall, Colo., to Carl and Jennie (Scran) Caranci. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Colorado Springs and went on to earn a business degree. She married Larry Mancini June 10, 1942, in Brighton.
Elaine followed her beloved husband throughout his military career during WWII. While he was stationed in Africa, she worked in Denver and later followed him to Oklahoma, where he completed OCS training. In 1946, they settled in Brighton and raised their three sons. Elaine was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality. She volunteered at the church and at Platte Valley Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Tom (Kathleen) of Albuquerque, Gary (Kathy) of San Diego, and Michael (Carol MacNeil) of Lafayette; grandchildren, Dominic, Marisa, Kiersten, Rachelle and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Ian, Haley, Aubrey, Nicholas, Gabriel, Elaina and Anthony; and brothers, Raymond and Victor Caranci.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lilian Ogilvie.
A memorial Mass was Nov. 19 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Brighton. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.
