A farmer in the Washougal area, Carl Christian Buslach came to the United States with his family when he was about 10 years old. He was born in Germany on November 14, 1865, the son of Carl L. Buslach. The family settled at Cape Horn and later Christian too up homestead #2189, Section 10, Township 1 North, Range 4 East, near Washougal.

On October 15, 1887, he was married in Clark County to Abigail "Abbie" Mary Gibbons, the daughter of Mason Matthais Gibbons and Sarah Ann Fletcher. A native of Clark County, Abbie was born on Lady's Island near Camas on July 3, 1870.

Christian carried the mail in Washougal in 1905. Abbie and Christian were divorced and she remarried in Clark County on January 24, 1916 to Robert H. Bedell. Abbie later divorced Robert Bedell and remarried Carl Buslach. Carl died May 28, 1939, Washougal, Washington.
