Julia Ann (Stone) Barger was born May 20th, 1875 to William and Elmina (S. Barger) Stone. She was the sister of a family of nine children.

Julia was united in marriage to Nathan Barger, son of John and Elizabeth (Hazel) S. Barger, on May 1, 1892 at the Pleasant Hill Church near Eddyville, Illinois. The ceremony was performed by B. W. Rose, Minister of the Gospel. Witnesses were Charles Osburn and Della S. Barger. Nathan and Julia were the parents of ten children. They were Blanch, Claude, Sylvia, Marzilla, Roy, Myrtle, Almon, Lyman, Irvin, and Clifford.

Julia passed away at her home, near Eddyville, on January 23, 1943 at the age of sixty-seven years, eight months and three days. Her husband and four of her children preceded her in death.

She was borne to the Spirit of the Lord in early life and joined the Pleasant Hill Church, where she was a member at the time of her death. Funeral services were conducted on January 26, 1943 by Rev. Whit Rushing after which interment was made in the church cemetery.
