ABBOTSFORD Eugene J. "Gene" Halopka, 77, of Abbotsford died Friday, Nov. 30,2007. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford. Eugene was born May 6, 1930, in the town of Browning to Frank and Alma (Giese) Halopka. On Sept. 22, 1948, he married Marge Sperl and they farmed for 40 years in the town of Holton. He is survived by his wife, Marge; children, Gary (Sue) Halopka of Dorchester, Darla (Chuck) Stuttgen of Athens, Daryl (Bonnie) Halopka of Dorchester, Gene (Nona) Halopka of Medford, Jim (Marlene) Halopka of Medford, Linda (Ed) Beyerl of Medford, Brian (Amy) Halopka of Dorchester, Todd Halopka of Dorchester, Kurt Halopka of Stetsonville, Pam (Brad) Wolf of Dorchester, Steve (Beverly) Halopka of Colby and Terry (Colleen) Halopka of Athens; sisters, Shirley Kliest of Medford and Ann (Norman) Gebauer of Medford; and brothers ,Ray Halopka of Stetsonville and Earl (Marjean) Halopka of Florida. He is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 36 greatgrandchildren, five stepgrand-children and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. MaurinaCommunity Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
