In 1860, he was a plasterer living in Windsor Township, York County, Pennsylvania, with a Wrightsville postal address.

Almost a Civil War veteran, he was drafted in York County October 24, 1862, mustered into federal service in York November 8 as a private with Co. E, 166th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"), but procured a substitute and shortly thereafter discharged.

His death certificate confirms that he was the son of Alexander & Agnes Nancy (Davidson or Davison) Fullerton. He died in Chanceford Township, York County, from "paralysis."
