Born in Michigan as his parents had gone there for work. Family is native Tennessee with roots back to NC and Va. He served in the US Navy during WWII and Korea and retired June1, 1960 and was piped ashore at Whiting Field NAS, Milton,FL. He was married to N. Christine Irick and they had one child, Brenda-Joyce. At the time of his death he was an engineer for Rockwell working on the space shuttle program for NASA at Cape Kennedy.
