Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to service at Golgotha Lutheran Church.
Herman George Frederick Krohn, son of Gustav and Auguste (Dibbert) Krohn was born on May 14, 1920 at rural Wausa, NE, and was baptized and confirmed at Golgotha Lutheran Church, Wausa, NE. He attended District 110 East School through the 8th grade and then began farming with his father. He married Hazel Lederer on May 29, 1960 at Golgotha Lutheran Church. Three sons were born to them: Frederick, Robert, and Bradley. Herman continued farming with his brother and later his son. He was active in the farming operation until, at the age of 78, poor health prevented him from continuing. Herman especially enjoyed tinkering with and fixing machinery and reminiscing about the "good old days" when he farmed with horses and picked corn by hand. He was a lifelong member of Golgotha Lutheran Church and held several church offices.
He died on June 22, 2011 at the Bloomfield Good Samaritan Society at the age of 91.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Hazel; sons and their wives, Frederick and Tonya Krohn, Wausa, Robert and Gayle Krohn, Creighton, and Bradley and Lynelle Krohn, Ponca; grandchildren and step-grandchildren Bryar, Alacia, and Levi Krohn, Erin Scanlan, and Chelsey, Michael, and Kylee Kracht; brothers August Krohn, Sioux City, IA, and Otto Krohn, Norfolk, NE; and sister Emma Folkers, Randolph, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ida Mueller, Olga Blunck, and Dora Kumm; father and mother-in-law Marion and Frieda Lederer; and brothers-in-law Cecil and Dale Lederer.
