Cathy Sue Stevens, 51, of Coffeyville, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.

She was born June 7, 1960 at Coffeyville to Everett R. "Pete" and Eula Mae (Garrison) Stevens. Cathy grew up in Olathe and Lake Charles, LA, where she attended school graduating from Barbe High School in Lake Charles, they later moved to Baxter Springs, KS. She also graduated from Labette Community College.

Cathy was a Graphic Artist working in Joplin, MO and Augusta, KS. She was a talented artist using paint, pencil, and water color. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking, and loved children, animals, and sharks.

She attended Amazing Grace Chapel.

Survivors include one son, Joseph D. Stevens Al Ain, United Arab Emirates; her mother, Eula Stevens of Smyrna, TN; one sister, Lori North and husband Stan of Smyrna, TN; one step-grandson, Micah; and two nieces Ashley North and Whitney North both of Smyrna, TN.

She was preceded in death by her father, Everett R. "Pete" Stevens on May 14, 2011; and one brother, Ricky Lee Stevens in 1974.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Amazing Grace Chapel with her sister, Lori North officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
