Elmore Kittower, 80, was the loving husband of Rita, devoted father to Elise, Marty (Kathleen), and dear brother to Bea Zwerdling.

Mr. Kittower was a brilliant engineer who held four patents, two of them top-secret and property of the U.S. Navy. He grew up in West Hollywood, CA, where he met his wife, Rita, in 1957. The couple raised two children, in their Tarzana home.

When he retired from his engineering career in 1994, Mr. Kittower and his wife enjoyed visiting with friends and walking their Belgian shepherd Bruin, through their Tarzana neighborhood. He devoted his attention to a variety of charitable causes including serving as a volunteer math tutor at Taft High School and reading aloud to make recordings for the blind and dyslexic.

The Elmore Kittower Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in the Fall 2008. It is dedicated to the memory of Elmore Kittower for the purposes of providing educational scholorships to the employees of Siverado Senior Living where he was once a resident.

Services were held at Eden Memorial Park, Friday, November 9, 2007.

Memorial donations may be made to Recording for the Blind.
