Samuel L. Stone, 87, of Tifton died Friday, November 28, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. B Sumner and Rev. R Tucker will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery.
Mr. Stone was born on December 25, 1920 in Milton County, a the son of General Jackson Stone and Ollie Ashworth Stone, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward Stone and Henry Stone. He was a retired farmer and a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church.
