Joe Tom Howerton, 49, of 800 SW 50 Pl., died Sunday in St. Anthony Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Services are pending with Vondel L. Smith Mortuary.
Howerton was born in AToka (sic). A refrigeration engineer, he came to Oklahoma City 28 years ago. He was employed at Tinker Air Force Base and also operated his own refrigeration service. He was a member of Walker Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Hosler, 8801 Victoria Dr., and two sons, Kim, and Alan Roy, both of the home; a brother, Jack, Spokane, Washington, and a half-brother, Clarence Eggleston, Monrovia, Calif.
