Here is his obit that I have transcribed from Crawfordsville Journal Review dated 5 Apr 1939: "Robert K. Krout Expires in City - Funeral Services Will Be Held Thursday Afternoon at 2 O'Clock - Robert Kennedy Krout, brother of the late Mary Hanna Krout and Carrie Krout, who were well known in literary circles, died at his home, 218 west College street, at 11:55 o'clock yesterday morning. He had been in failing health for nearly two years and his death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Krout was born in this city, the son of Robert K. and Caroline Krout. He was never married. Mary Hanna Krout is remembered by several older residents as an outstanding newspaperwoman of her day. She at one time was London correspondent for a Chicago daily paper. She was also identified as a poet, one of her better known pieces being "Little Brown Hands." Her sister was an author. Mr. Krout attended the public schools here and was a member of the Wabash class of 1892. He belonged to the P. O. S. of A. lodge. Surviving are two sisters, Jane and Roberta K. Krout, both of this city; a niece, who resides in Terre Haute, and two nephews, both of Oregon state. Funeral services will be held at the home on west College street at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon with Rev. John Servies in charge. Friends are requested to omit flowers. Burial will be made at Oak Hill cemetery."
