Gregory Bruce Foreman was born April 10, 1945 to Forrest and Harriet (Arnold) Foreman in Miami, FL. He attended Country Day School in Miami until the 5th grade. Greg then moved with his mother to various locations in North Dakota and California before returning to live with his grandparents, Harry and Olga Arnold in Grenora, ND. Greg graduated from Williston High School in Williston, ND. He attended the University of North Dakota for one year and transferred to Northwestern College in Orange City, IA where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Education. Greg taught Art at Melvin Community Schools for one year, and then moved to Rock Valley where he taught at Rock Valley Community Schools until his retirement in 2000 after 31 years. After retirement, Greg thoroughly missed working with kids, so he began working with the Foster Grandparent Program in which he enjoyed very much. He was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where he served in numerous positions and designed many banners and the wood framing in front of the sanctuary. He was recently selected to be a member of the Lutheran Services in Iowa Endowment Cabinet. Greg was a long time member of the Rock Valley Arts Council. He was noted for his beautiful art creations, paintings, sculptures and for 5 years his monument portrait work. Greg enjoyed teaching young people, painting, collecting cars and most liked spending time at the lake with Tracy, Matthew, Mindy (family dog), family and friends.
Greg is survived by his wife, Tracy; son, Matthew Foreman of Rock Valley, IA; special cousins: Mark (Dianne) Arnold of Moundsview, MN, John (Jean) Foreman of Grand Junction, CO; mother-in-law, Arlette Parnell of Plymouth, MN; brother-in-law, Mark (Beverly) Parnell of Buffalo, MN; sisters-in-law: Gwen Parnell of Mound, MN, Kelly Follis of Champlin, MN; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Foreman and Harriet Aiken.
