Mr. Bezanson was born March 10, 1922 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Viedia (Djureen) and Burton Bezanson, and died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mr. Bezanson had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy, completing two tours of combat duty during World War II in the South Pacific. He was the owner and CEO of Lufkin Elite Enterprises, Inc. (Elite Cleaners). Mr. Bezanson was the founder of the Bezanson Bike-A-Thon Against Cancer, from the late 70's to the mid 90's.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dianne Bezanson of Etoile; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Paul Campbell of Houston; grandson, Blake Bezanson of Lufkin; granddaughter and spouse, Jennifer and Bob Johnson of Dallas; great-granddaughters, Olivia Rose and Vivian Grace Johnson of Dallas; sister, Virginia Quaid of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bezanson was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Bezanson; daughter, Sharon Bezanson Pitts; and brothers, Donald and Stanley Bezanson.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Sudheer Karnati for his exceptional care to Chuck and the Bezanson family.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
