WILLIAM FREDERICK RAMPKE
April 13, 1925 ~ February 8, 2010

William "Bill" Rampke, of Vancouver, WA, passed away Feb. 8, 2010, at the age of 84. Born in Dalton, Il, he had two sisters and three brothers.
After serving in the war for two years in the Philippines, he moved to California where he took up boat racing.
He met his wife Leatha of 52 years on a trip to Vancouver. They moved to California where Bill did construction and had his own Sheet Metal Business. In 1963 he moved his family back to Vancouver where Bill continued doing sheet metal work.
After raising and educating two daughters through college, Bill built seven homes, sub-contracted Koinonia Hall at St. John Lutheran Church, and worked with his son-in-law remodeling two restaurants.
Besides his boat racing, he enjoyed camping and water skiing with his girls, traveling with Leatha across the United States by car and then by train and by boat up into Alaska and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife, Leatha; daughters, Peggy (Ken) Price, Pam (Michael) Dougherty; grandchildren, Jessica (Ed) Burgos, Kenny, Will, Michael (Vanessa), Brian, and Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Summer and Reign.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00, Saturday, February 13, at St. John Lutheran Church, 11005 N.E. Highway 99 in Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
