Suggested edit: Mary Ann Allgood was born on 22 Jul 1866 in Monroe County, Tennessee to William J. Allgood and Martha Shaw. Her siblings were William Charles [1868-1942], Amanda E. Allgood [1870-1960], Joseph "Doc" Newton Allgood [1873-1961], Samantha Jane Allgood [1875-1915], and Charles Allgood [1878-1960]. By 1870 the family had moved to Johnson, Texas and by 1880 to Precinct 4 of Hood County, Tx. In Hood, she met and married Charles A. Brady of Fall Creek on 23 Dec 1883. They had four children: Mike, Susie, Jack, and Fannie who died in infancy. Charlie died at the age of 30 and it was not recorded anywhere from what. It did however leave Mary with three small children to raise. She met and married Thomas Jefferson McDaniel and they were married on 21 Apr 1891 in Hood County. They had seven children: Luther, Martin Henry, Mathews, Nathan, Ollie, Lela, and Myrtle Rose. It has been very hard to find out more about her life and many records are missing. I do know that both her Allgood and Shaw families go back to the 1600's in founding this nation and both sides had their representation in the Revolutionary War. Martha Shaw's family goes back to the Howland's who came over on the Mayflower. She came from strong people and it looks like she needed that strength.
