Mabel Elizabeth Pickering Arnold 82,of Texarkana, Texas died Wednesday February 12,2003 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Arnold was born July 29,1920 in Texarkana. She was employed with Maple's Thrifty and Barbara's Florist and a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Pleasant Grove Ladies Circle and Texas PTA. She was preceaded in death by her husband, Ray Arnold, on November 10,2000. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Lynn Crumpton of Texarkana; two brothers, W.E. Pickering of Texarkana; and Sam Pickering of Garland, Ark; two grandsons, Stephen Crumpton and Billy Lynn Crumpton of Texarkana; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Lynn Crumpton and Colleen LaRue Crumpton of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Rick Hazlett and Don Gildon officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
