Dorothy Means Herrington, 91, of Kirksville, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011 at Highland Crest Assisted Living in Kirksville.

She was born January 17, 1920, in Moberly, the daughter of Lewis M. and Evangeline(Boggs)Means.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Evangeline Perry, two children, Tommy and Nancy, in infancy, and a sister, Rebecca Ann Jones.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Mardee Henselman of Kirksville, four sons, Frank D. Waddell and wife Sue of Casper, WY., Kenneth F. Herrington lll and wife Kathy of Louisville, KY., Lewis M. Herrington and wife Jen of Seattle WA., and Geoff R. Herrington and wife Christine of Farmington, MO., one son-in-law Ron Perry of Fairfield IA., thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Saturday June 25, 2011 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette, MO. Burial will follow at the Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette. Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Susan G.Komem for the Cure.

Lewis Manning Means, born 15 July 1890 Montreal, Camden County, Missouri. He married 19 August 1917, Fayette, Missouri, EVANGELINE BOGGS, born 5 April 1898, Fayette, Missouri. She was the daughter of Joseph C Boggs and Melvina Katherine (Brown) Boggs.

Lewis and Evangeline had the following issue:
1 - Dorothy Evangeline, b 17 Jan 1920; d 21 Jul 1943
2 - Rebecca Ann, b 1 Sept 1922, married 13 Jun 1948, Phillip N Jones
