In 1858 this was the first Catholic cemetery in Portland.
In 1930 Saint Mary's was closed and all the interments were moved to
Mount Calvary Cemetery. Central Catholic High School was built
on the site of the old cemetery. There is a section for the burials
from Saint Mary's located in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
