Gary K. Hogan passed away on Wednesday June 22, 2011 in Checotah, OK at the age of 54. He was born February 22, 1957 in Muskogee, OK to William (Bill) Don and Ethelberta (May) Hogan. Gary graduated from Checotah High School in 1975. Gary lived for hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. He always had a bird dog and was ready for the first day of dove and quail season. You could often find him with a grin on his face and a fishing pole headed for the nearest good pond or the lake. Gary was baptized in 1972 at the First Baptist Church of Checotah. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bert Hogan; and his brother Don Edward Hogan. He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Hogan Pall and husband Bob, and Kay Hogan Dye; his brothers, Larry Hogan and wife Miranda, and Michael Hogan and wife Shelly; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A service celebrating Gary's life will be 10:00 am, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Hampton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery with Bruce Hammontree, Mike Johnson, Rick Smith, Jack Hogan, Randy Kindred, Reade Hogan, Darin Pall, and Ronnie Reece serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Connie Hearndon, Jack (J.D.) Adams and Raymond Carey. (Hampton)
