Hungarian-born Ilona Mária "Sali" Györik (née Szabó), 85, died in Winchester, Va. on May 7, 2011.

Widowed since 1982, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Gailitzin in 2004 and a son, Thomas Györik in 2010.

In 1981 she established the Alba Regia Chapel and memorial cemetery on 180 acres in Morgan County. It is the only memorial chapel in American which honors Hungarian Freedom Fighters. Hungarians from all over the world are buried there.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Tatiana Galitzin, Arlington, Va.; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Györik Debelius, Rockville, Md. and a stepson, Zoltán Györik of Hungary.

Memorial services will be held June 18, 10 a.m. at the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. with interment, June 25, 11 a.m. a the Alba Regia Memorial Chapel in Berkeley Springs.
