Raymond B. Carroll Sr., 88, of Roselle Park passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at home. Funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 8:15 a.m. Funeral Mass is in the Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. in Derby, Conn., Mr. Carroll lived in Newark before moving to Roselle Park 54 years ago. He was a terminal manager for Lopez Trucking in Port Newark for many years, retiring in 1984. A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and participated in the battles of Okinawa and the Ryukyus. A past president of the Holy Name Society and the Assumption Baseball League at the Church of the Assumption, Raymond was named "Catholic Man of the Year" at the parish and served as chairman for the 75th Anniversary and as a Eucharistic minister. He was a former board of health commissioner for the Borough of Roselle Park. Mr. Carroll was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte C. (nee Reilly) Carroll. Surviving are his children, Raymond B. Carroll Jr. and his wife, Connie, Paula B. Panepinto and her husband, Robert; Kevin G. Carroll and his wife, Letty; Keith A. Carroll and his wife, Barbara; Stephen M. Carroll and his wife, Mary Ellen; Kim M. Seppelt and her husband, Darren, C.J. Carroll and his wife, Linda; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
