JAMES ALFRED DAWSON was born Oct. 3, 1917 at Lamar, OK to Charles and Mary (Smithee) Dawson and died Sep. 4, 2002 at the Eufaula manor Nursing Home where he had resided since May 12, 1998. Services were Sep. 7 at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Louise McWhorter of Bakersfield, CA, Geneva and Bob Hufft of Bakersfield, CA, Betty and Charles Story of Okmulgee, OK; three nieces and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Raiford in April 1997; his parents; a sister, Ora Morgon; two brothers-in-law, Jim Morgon and Andrew McWhorter.
