She was born in Gillette on May 20, 1907, to Harry Jones Chassell and Rosa Hawksley Chassell. She married Alfred D. Wilkinson on May 29, 1931, in Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1970.
She graduated from Campbell County High School and taught school in Campbell County for a year before leaving to attend Cornell College in Iowa. Mrs. Wilkinson taught school and was a school administrator in Shellsburg, Iowa, before her marriage. She lived in Appleton, Wis., and Redding, Calif., before moving to Ohio in 1990. She was active in community service and in the PEO sisterhood.
She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sally Adams of Bedford, Ohio, Sue Cotton of Fairfax, Va., and Kay Norris of Boulder, Colo.; her sister, Helen Rose Chassell Davis of Camarillo, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
