US Congressman. He was elected to represent Kansas in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1943 to 1959. He served in the United States Army during World War I in Battery B, 129th Field Artillery, and was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Originally interred in Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida, he was moved to Arlington National Cemetery in 1984.
