Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Townsend was born in Dallas and spent 21 years in active service with the Air Force.
He received the Victory Medal in World War II, the Korean Service Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Air Medal with one oak leaf cluster. He was active in the Disabled American Veterans and the Rotary Club of Western Fort Worth.
Survivors: Wife, Betty Ann Townsend of Cleburne; daughter, Gail Jean Rash of Giddings; son, Larry Allan Townsend of San Antonio; sister, Ellen Teipel of Dallas; and two grandsons.
