Fall Causes Death.
Peter Brown, for many years connected with the meat shops of Franklin, died Monday morning about 8:30 from injuries caused by a fall from a hay mow. For some time he had been making his home with J. O. Boles in Union township. At 5:00 Monday morning he arose as usual and went to the barn to feed the horses. He climbed into the hay mow to throw down some hay when he was seized by an attack of vertigo and fell backward to the floor of the barn, a distance of twelve feet.
After his absence had been noticed, members of the family went to the barn and found him lying on the floor. His head was badly hurt and two ribs broken. A physician was summoned, but he did not rally from the shock and death came at 8:30. The deceased was born in Mercer county, Kentucky, in 1835. He came to Franklin in 1870, where he lived until a few months ago.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the home of J. O. Boles. Burial in Greenlawn.
