I found the James Cope family in the 1920 census, for Sedro Woolley, Skagit Co,WA. The following is how they were listed in the census.

It does not appear that James Spergon Cope, listed in the Lyman cemetery,is a member of this family. Information on his wife's memorial, indicates that he was from Georgia, or at least lived in Georgia until the 1930's or 40's. That would make it unlikely that he is the son of this James Cope.
