Curt Hennig

Professional Wrestler. Son of legendary wrestler Larry "The Ax" Hennig. Made his pro debut in 1979 and wrestled for the AWA during the 1980's. On January 18, 1986, he won the AWA tag team titles with Scott Hall from Jimmy Garvin and Steve Regal. On May 2, 1987, he won the AWA World Title from legend Nick Bockwinkel when Larry Zbyzsko handed him a roll of quarters to knock Bockwinkel out. He would lose the title in an equally controversial manner to Jerry Lawler in Memphis, Tennessee on May 9, 1988. Later that year, Hennig showed up in the (then) WWF with the gimmick "Mr. Perfect." He won the Intercontinental title in a tournament, defeating Tito Santana in the finals. He lost it to Kerry Von Erich but regained it shortly thereafter. He lost the IC title for good to Bret "Hit Man" Hart on August 26, 1991 at SummerSlam in New York City. The match was praised as one of the best in wrestling history, due to the fact that both men were master technical wrestlers. During the course of that match, Curt aggravated an old back injury and was forced to take time off. He would come back and defeat Ric Flair in January 1993 in a "Loser Leaves the WWF" match but his back flared up again and he took more time off. He returned to the WWF in 1995 but by 1996 he was in WCW. He would stay there until 1999, disappointed in being relegated to non-wrestling roles within the company. In 2000, he began working on the indie circuit. He was found in a hotel room in Tampa, Florida by a workout partner concerned that he had not shown up for his match for Jimmy Hart's promotion.
