Civil War Soldier
Private, 1st Battery, Vermont Light Artillery
Died in Service (Non-hostile: Disease) at Baton Rouge LA
Transferred to 2nd Battery, Vermont Light Artillery, 13 Jul 1864, but never joined.
N.B.: Rawson Lathe and Ransom Lathe appear to be the same person. Their service records are identical and are mixed together. Also, the Vermont Adjutant General's "Revised roster of Vermont volunteers and lists of Vermonters who served in the army and navy of the United States during the war of the rebellion, 1861-66" indicates that "Ransom" is a mistake and that the soldier's name was "Rawson" (Errata, p. 773).
