Obituary

LeeRoy M. King, son of Homer M. and Ella King, was born January 7, 1902 and passed away June 21, 1922, aged 20 years, 5 months and 2 weeks.
An older sister preceded him to the Spirit World. He leaves to mourn his departure his sorely stricken and bereft parents, two sisters and four brothers and many other relatives.
LeeRoy had a sweet temper and loving disposition. In his long and severe affliction he was patient and endured pain without a murmur. He was prepared to leave this earthly home and requested that we all meet him in Heaven.
Although we sorrowfully followed the casket which contained the silent form to its last resting place, we would not wish to bring him back contrary to the will of God.
He is now a full sharer in the glorified bliss of Heaven. He dwells where Jesus is and is in all possession of Eternal life. He can not come back to us, but we can go to him. Therefore in the hope of meeting again, we say, "Good-Bye Lee." Burial was made at Riverside cemetery.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home,
That never can be filled.
Dearest son, can it be,
That thou art here no more:
Hast thou passed the Pearly Gates
To dwell on yonder shore?
Farewell, we never can forget,
Thy words of hope nd cheer,
We love thee, yes, we miss thee
Yet we feel that thou art near.
Peaceful be thy silent sleep,
Rest on sweet one forever,
Hope in our home above to meet,
When we have crossed the river.
The funeral services were held at the home of his parents, three miles east of Spencerville, on Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock.
Rev. A. K. Mumma, of Harlan, officiating and assisted by the Rev. Brewster of the Spencerville Methodist church.
He was laid to rest at the Rockford cemetery, Ohio, the early home of his parents. Roscoe Walters, funeral director.
