Mattie Frances (Hankins) (Farris) Brackett was born April 6, 1883 to John and Louiza Price (Jackson) Hankins, who both were buried at Wheelock Cemetery, Millerton, McCurtain County, OK.

Mattie Frances was the oldest daughter of John and Louiza Hankins, but she had one older brother, William Henry Hankins.

About 1900, in Texas, when she was about 16 years old, Mattie Frances first married James "Jim" F. Miller, Sr., son of G. W. Miller and Josephine (?) Miller. Born in October, 1860 in MS, James "Jim" died between 1920 and April 17, 1930.

Mattie Frances lived between Clarksville, Red River County, TX and between the Red River Line.

Their children were James "Jim" Parker Miller, Ross Edward Miller (1904-1968), Curtis H. Miller, (born June 20, 1907 and died in May, 1992), Jewell Miller (1909-?), Randolph D. Miller (1912-1967), Mattie G. Miller (born abt 1914 in Texas), Mary Lee (1916-?) and Van Dyke Miller (born abt 1918).

Before 1942, Mattie Frances second married Tom Farris. She later married a man named Benjamin "Ben" Brackett.
