Mrs. James A. Tinsley, 72, of 4 Luminosa Terrace, died Monday night in a Rome hospital.

The former Sarah Akridge, she was born in Floyd County March 7, 1903, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Jessie Kennebrew Akridge.

She has resided in Chattanooga for 20 years and for 22 years in Orlando, Fla., returning to Rome in 1965. She was a member of the baptist church.

Survivors include her widower, James S. Tinsley to whom she was married July 19, 1925; one sister, Mrs. Janie Biddy of Rome; one brother, Jack Akridge of Rome; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Revs. Paul Harwell and Melvin Smith officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include R. L. Johnson, Charlie Camp, Billie Akridge, John Akridge, Marvin Duncan, and Ebb Gaines.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home and the family will receive friends at the residence.

Daniel's Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
