Jo Frances Hodges Bowers, 81, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Piedmont Hospital. Jo Frances was born April 20, 1929 in Statesboro, GA to Joseph Gordon and Ella Burroughs Hodges. Mrs. Bowers was a 1946 honor graduate of Statesboro High School. Upon graduation she moved to Atlanta and attended Atlanta Business School. She worked at Georgia Blueprint, Continental Airlines, and the family business, BF Inkjet Media, Inc. Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church for 56 years and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Grace Cason and Edna Cason. Mrs. Bowers is survived by her husband of 60 years, Max Alvin Bowers, Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law; daughter; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral service held August 7 at the Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church, Atlanta with Elder Pat McCoy officiating. Burial at Oak View Cemetery, Canon, GA. Pallbearers are Lawton, Brian and Michael Bowers, Harry Bowers and nephews, Ellis Cartee and Bobby Cason of Statesboro. Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville in charge of arrangements.
