Alexander Lebenstein, 82, passed away January 28, 2010.

He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.

Alex was the son of Natan and Charlotte Lebenstein in Haltern Am See Germany, November 3, 1927.

A Holocaust survivor, Alex left his mark as an educator, humanitarian and author.

He will be missed by people he touched throughout the world.

He is survived by his sons, David and Danny, his sister Alice Kapnek, two grandchildren Lisa and Adam, two great- grandchildren, and two nieces.

Services were held January 31, 2010, at Bliley's Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Avenue.

The family received visitors at the Virginia Holocaust Museum.

Interment was private.
